Guitar Bodied Octave Mandolin

I designed my GBOM from the ground up in 2016. I used a compass and straight edge to geometrically construct the outline of the body shape using common (14” lower and 10” upper bout) dimensions. I designed the arching and graduations myself using a curtate cycloid and a good bit of experimentation. They have a 21.5” scale length, X-brace and join the neck at the 14th fret. The trapeze tailpiece is custom made, as is the bridge.
